I cannot explain the happiness that Chris and I are experiencing right now. We are finally parents to a beautiful, precious little boy named Jackson. He has only been in our home for one week but he has already brought us so much joy. I think he is this perfect little angel that can do no wrong; I think his cry is adorable. He has funny mannerisms that make you laugh and he loves snuggles. He does not like his back to be patted, only rubbed. He loves it when you stroke his eyebrows and sing to him. We call him Bubbah J (only my brother does) Baby Jax, Jackson and widdle man. He tends to smile in his sleep as well as snore. He is on a "newborn schedule"; sleeps for three hours, wakes put to be fed, is alert for about 30 minutes then the cycle repeats itself. Jackson has had a fabulous first week of life and is constantly bringing us joy. He had his first checkup this week that went fabulously well. The one thing about Jackson is that he loves to be warm, swaddled and to constantly feel like he is still in the womb. When you un-swaddle him, change his diaper etc, he will cry and not be shy about telling you that. As we were in the doctors office, they asked us to remove his clothes so they could weigh him, Jax was no happy about this at all! Jax's was born at 4.7lbs and left the hospital weighing 4.6lbs, but after leaving the pediatricians office he weighed 4.11lbs. I was so happy to hear that our little man was gaining weight and growing. Jackson has his 2 week checkup in two weeks and we are so very excited to see the growth that he is making with his weight. We also have a cardiologist appointment in three weeks just to double cheek the extra beat in his heart, the doctors say most newborns have this and will grow out of it; there is no need to be worried. Also, I was surprised with a baby shower from the ladies in my ward. It was so nice to see people come and rejoice in the birth of Jax and for them to buy him things. Jaxs is now going to be the best dressed baby in the world. I have been blessed with so many great friends and family who have supported Chris and I through this journey. Chris has been an amazing support and a spectacular father this past week. He stepped up to be the best father in the world (i truly believe this). Chris wakes up with Jackson at night, feeds him during the day, talks to him, spends loads of time with him, changes as many diapers as he can and etc. He is an amazing father to Jax and I am so grateful that I married such an amazing man. We love Jax so much and thank our father in Heaven for blessing us with such a beautiful child.
